Our Priorities and Ambitions

  • Implement reusable personal protective equipment such as tourniquets, aprons, theatre gowns, face masks and hats.
  • Keep products and equipment in service for as long as possible through maintenance and repair.
  • Identify products with high packaging content and work with suppliers to reduce this.
  • Work with NHS Supply Chain to reduce non-recyclable single use plastics – both products and packaging.
  • Ensure tenders adopt the social value procurement note PPN 06/20 and NHS Sustainable Supplier principles.
  • Complete sustainability impact assessments as part of changes to services / major projects.
